Recently, it was the honor of Geekademia to snag an invite to the 2nd Annual Full Moon Horror and Tattoo Festival Chattanooga. Held in the gargantuan Chattanooga Convention Center, fans of horror and tattoos were treated to a host of horror related individuals. Fans were able to see and meet with P.J. Soles (Halloween), Michael Baldwin, Angus Scrimm, Reggie Bannister, director Don Coscarelli (Phantasm series), R.A. Mihailoff (Texas Chainsaw Massacre III), and many others.
The venue was nice, but the decision to blast Top Forty hits over the PA system managed to make it extremely difficult to interview anyone. Venders, both of the tattoo variety and other, were on hand. Artist Olivia Frankenstein and even the Creeping Cruds were on hand to liven, or deaden, things up.
Fans were treated to a special showing of the 1978 Halloween, moderated by P.J. Soles herself, as well as a fan panel of the Phantasm series with the stars.
The show, originally held only in Nashville, branched out to Chattanooga last year. The Full Moon staff has always delivered a great showing to the people of Tennessee, and this year was no different. Next year looks to be even bigger, so if one can find the time, head out to the show. You won’t regret it.
