What If Game of Thrones Was a 1977 TV Movie?

TV has come a long way since the days of a handful networks and UHF, and the new new Golden Age of Television is well upon us, as evident by none other than the final season of HBO’s hit fantasy drama, Game of Thrones. But while the Summer Children of television are basking in the glory of feature film quality episodes of a series made to order, we old farts remember a darker day when we were lucky to get the Rankin/Bass Hobbit movie (don’t @ me).

The folks at Flashbak know that feel all too well, which is why they produced this lovely piece on What Game of Thrones might have looked like if it were a 70s TV Movie.

It’s pitch perfect, from their casting of Cersei Lannister and Arya Stark, to their groovy 70s TV Guide font – and while the great Ricardo Montalban as Stannis Baratheon might be a stretch, the whole thing is really worth the read!

What would your dream casting from the 70s, 80s, or 90s be? Let us know in the comments below!
