A woman of many talents, Danielle Gelehrter exploded onto the horror host scene in January 2006 with the character of Penny Dreadful, host of Shilling Shockers. A witch by trade, Penny hosts with the most and with aid of several characters, including the werewolf Garou, vampire hunter Dr. Manfred Von Bulow, and madwoman Luna; Penny has also made a Halloween special with none other than Dr. Gangrene and Count Gore de Vol.
Penny is one of the new breed of horror hosts. She is still on television, but she is also streaming her show across the Internet. More and more hosts are appearing digitally, but television is still reigning supreme. Penny Dreadful is definitely one of the new kids on the block, but she has a timeless charm. No doubt being several hundred years old has graced her with a television presence.
She has appeared at various charities and conventions across the country and looks to be doing even more in the upcoming year.
