Bonus Round: Project Judge

Get ready to enter the Japanese underworld, but this time on the other side of the law – “Project Judge” is coming to PlayStation 4.

At PlayStation’s pre-TGS conference, Sega revealed the latest game by the creators of the Yakuza series. “Project Judge” returns to Kamurocho, the iconic location of Kazuma Kiryu’s adventures. This time players will not be playing as the Dragon of Dojima, but as a brand new character named Takayuki Yagami. Unlike Kiryu, Yagami isn’t a member of the Yakuza, but a well-renowned defense lawyer.

When a string of murders related to a past case occur throughout the city, Yagami begins his own investigation to solve the mysteries behind them and get justice for the victims. Similar to the Yakuza series, Project Judge is a 3rd-person action-adventure game with a mix of exploration, combat, and side activities. Players will investigate for clues, question witnesses and leads, and trail suspects with valuable information.

When the going gets rough, Yagami is gets tough; his acrobatic style of combat has plenty of stylish looking moves including lucha-like headscissor takedowns and flying kicks while kickflipping off a skateboard. When it’s time for a break from the story, players will be able to take part in new side activities, including what looks to be a virtual reality shooting game, pinball and drone races.

Project Judge has already been announced for a global release, with the Japanese version out in December and a Western version out in 2019. Those with a Japanese PSN account can download a demo of the game right now and check out a sample of what’s to come.
